We try to offer Wheel for Dummies and Handbuilding for Dummies once or twice a month each. If you don’t see them on the schedule then keep an eye out here for the next time it’s posted, or follow us on Facebook to get notified. A few times a year we do seasonal workshops and occasionally we’ll invite a professional artist from near or far to do an exclusive workshop on their signature specialty.

  • Wheel for Dummies
    Take the wheel for a spin and learn the fundamentals in this three-hour session. You will learn how to work with raw clay, center a lump of it on the wheel, throw cylinders and—time permitting—move on to bowls, in a focused environment. Registration for this workshop is $75 and includes instruction, clay, glazes, and firing.

  • Handbuilding for Dummies
    Handbuilding is awesome and doesn’t get the attention that it deserves! Armed with just a few basic techniques, there are multitudes of projects that can be taken on by beginners. Birdfeeders, gingerbread houses, luminaries, plates and mugs, mobiles, the list goes on and on. Each class focuses on a different project. Like Wheel for Dummies registration is $75 and includes instruction, clay, glazes, and firing.

  • Seasonal Workshops
    Don’t you just love decorating for the holidays? Our seasonal workshops are perfect for crafting spooky Jack O’Lanterns or adorable keepsake Christmas ornaments. Designed for kids aged 6 and up and adults who are young at heart, this is the perfect way to get into the holiday spirit and unleash your creativity! Registration varies and includes instruction, clay, glazes, and firing.

Workshops are open to all students ages 8 and up, regardless of skill level unless otherwise noted. Don’t forget to dress casual — working in clay can be messy! Workshops other than Wheel for Dummies may or may not be on the schedule, so if you don’t see what you’re looking for, feel free to let us know! We are always open to good ideas. Also, if you can find several people that are interested in the same thing as you we are always happy to make up a special class just for you and your posse.
